Hi Troy,
There are a few ways to help remember the notes
1. Pick a few notes which you are super familiar with. I call these home notes and see where in relation the other notes are to these ones. This may take a bit of time to process so be patient
2. once you start getting an idea of the notes put symbols (squares, circles etc.) above the ones you are still having trouble with. Try to avoid putting the letter name as this will stuff you up later as many notes on the fret board have the same letter and you’ll find it hard to distinguish which is which later down the track
3. Use the stem of the note where applicable to see which notes are above the second string and which are below
4. Practice!
